All about me.
I've lived my whole life in Southern California. I have edited projects in New York, San Francisco, Austin, London, South Africa and Uruguay. I graduated from the UCLA School of Design and my final project was a 10 minute film that in hindsight was really just a bunch of commercials and music videos that I made about the world around me. My commercial editing career started with a couple of Mattel Hot Wheels commercials which then lead to real cars. I've edited major commercials for Acura, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, Kia, Honda, Hyundai, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes, Toyota, and VW, just to name a few. I've edited several spots for NIKE and Converse. I won an Editing Clio for my work on a Microsoft campaign that used the David Bowie song, "We Could Be Heroes." The Mac vs PC campaign lasted for four years and won many awards as well as being regarded as "...one of the most significant ad campaigns in history." Recently I have edited projects for Facebook and Google as well as lots of other fast food restaurants like Jack in the Box and Taco Bell. During the pandemic I set up shop in a tool shed in the back yard and edited for clients around the world. My first editing mentor showed me that a shot tells you how long it wants to be and that just made sense. I now believe that if you give the same good footage to different good editors you will get the same edit. It's the not so good footage that requires the magic. Great footage, however, deserves a great editor.
